Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced into ½-inch wedges
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Slice the peeled apples into uniform 1/2-inch wedges to ensure even cooking. Place the slices in a large mixing bowl and toss with lemon juice to prevent oxidation.
  2. Pour the melted butter over the apple slices, then add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss thoroughly until every slice is evenly coated in the cinnamon-sugar paste.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Arrange the apples in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded to allow proper air circulation.
  4. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously halfway through. Cook until the apples reach a deep mahogany-brown color and the sugar bubbles into a thick syrup.
