Ingredients:
- 2 lbs firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced into ½-inch wedges
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 pinch sea salt
Instructions:
- Slice the peeled apples into uniform 1/2-inch wedges to ensure even cooking. Place the slices in a large mixing bowl and toss with lemon juice to prevent oxidation.
- Pour the melted butter over the apple slices, then add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss thoroughly until every slice is evenly coated in the cinnamon-sugar paste.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Arrange the apples in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded to allow proper air circulation.
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously halfway through. Cook until the apples reach a deep mahogany-brown color and the sugar bubbles into a thick syrup.
