Ingredients:
- 4 lbs mixed apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, and Fuji), cored and sliced into 1-inch chunks
- 0.5 cup water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Wash the apples thoroughly. Core and slice the apples into 1-inch chunks, leaving the skins on for added nutrients and color.
- Place the apple chunks into the Instant Pot inner pot. Add the water, lemon juice, sea salt, and ground cinnamon.
- Secure the lid and set the steam release valve to the 'Sealing' position.
- Select Manual/Pressure Cook on HIGH for 5 minutes. Note: The pot will take approximately 10 minutes to reach pressure.
- When the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to drop naturally for 10 minutes (Natural Pressure Release) before venting any remaining steam.
- Open the lid. For chunky applesauce, stir with a wooden spoon or potato masher. For a smooth puree, use an immersion blender until reaching the desired consistency.
