Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs mixed apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, and Fuji), cored and sliced into 1-inch chunks
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly. Core and slice the apples into 1-inch chunks, leaving the skins on for added nutrients and color.
  2. Place the apple chunks into the Instant Pot inner pot. Add the water, lemon juice, sea salt, and ground cinnamon.
  3. Secure the lid and set the steam release valve to the 'Sealing' position.
  4. Select Manual/Pressure Cook on HIGH for 5 minutes. Note: The pot will take approximately 10 minutes to reach pressure.
  5. When the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to drop naturally for 10 minutes (Natural Pressure Release) before venting any remaining steam.
  6. Open the lid. For chunky applesauce, stir with a wooden spoon or potato masher. For a smooth puree, use an immersion blender until reaching the desired consistency.
