Ingredients:
- 2 slices (56g) sourdough bread
- 1 tsp (5ml) olive oil
- 1 medium avocado (140g)
- 1 tsp (5ml) lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1/8 tsp (0.5g) black pepper
- 1/4 tsp (0.5g) red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Toast your bread slices until they reach a deep golden brown. If using a skillet, heat 1 tsp (5ml) of olive oil over medium-high heat and sear each side for 2 minutes until the crust is shattering.
- In a small bowl, scoop out the avocado flesh. Using a fork, mash the fruit while adding the lemon juice, sea salt, and black pepper until the mixture is mostly smooth but still contains small, pea-sized chunks.
- Immediately spread a generous layer of the avocado mixture onto the warm toast. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle red pepper flakes across the top.
