Vegetable steak recipe with mushrooms
Want to try vegan minced meat, the recipe based on mushrooms is for you. Great to eat with air fried smashed potatoes or cauliflower.
Vegetable steak ingredients
- 500 g button mushrooms
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 tablespoons of tomato sauce
- a little flour
- Olive oil
- Herbs of Provence
- Cumin, salt and pepper
Vegetable steak preparation
Peel and cut the onion, sweat it in a pan with a little olive oil. Add the sliced mushrooms. Cover and leave for 15 minutes. Add the chopped garlic cloves then remove excess water from the pan. Mix with tomato sauce, spices and seasoning.
Shape the vegetable steaks and cook on both sides in an oiled pan (10 minutes is enough).
Vegetable steak recipe made from red beans

Ingredients for vegetable steak
- 125 g cooked red beans
- 20 g buckwheat flour
- 1 tablespoon of potato starch
- 1 shallot
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Preparing the vegetable steak
Place red beans, buckwheat flour, potato starch, salt, pepper, shallot and olive oil
Mix and add some red bean cooking juice if the texture is too thick.
Shape this preparation into a steak shape (or meatballs if you prefer to have plant-based meatballs).
Cook in an oiled pan on both sides. Eat as is or as a vegetable hamburger.
Vegetable steak recipe made from chickpeas
Last plant-based meat recipe, this time using chickpeas.
Vegetable steak ingredients
- 80g oatmeal
- 500 g chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 onions
- 500 g lentils, rinsed and drained
- Salt and pepper
- oregano
Preparing the vegetable steak
Mince garlic and onion. Mix with chickpeas + a little juice and oatmeal.
Add oregano, salt and pepper. Place in a container and mix with the lentils.
Form 4 steaks and cook them in an oiled pan on both sides (around 7 minutes in total).
This vegetable steak is eaten with a salad, fries or as a vegetable hamburger or on the barbecue with why not a glass of vegan wine.
