Frequently Asked Questions
Can I substitute ingredients in a recipe?
Often, yes. Many recipes list common swaps in the notes. Keep in mind that changes to flour, binders (such as flax eggs) or the amount of liquid can alter texture, especially in baking. If you are unsure, write to us with the recipe name and the swap you have in mind.
Are the nutrition numbers exact?
No. Nutrition information is an estimate based on standard ingredient values. Brands, portion sizes and substitutions change the real numbers, so treat them as a guide. If you follow a medical or special diet, check your own labels and ask a health professional.
How do I check allergens?
Always read the labels of the products you buy, since ingredients such as nuts, soy, gluten and sesame can appear in packaged foods. If a recipe uses an allergen, say so in your message and we can suggest what to look for.
How do I know a dish is done?
Times and temperatures are guides, because ovens, pans and stovetops vary. Use the visual and texture cues in the steps, and check doneness with a thermometer when a recipe calls for one.
How do I report an error in a recipe?
Use the contact form above and include the recipe title or link, the step or ingredient in question and what you think it should say. We review reports and update the recipe when a fix is needed.
Can I use your recipes or photos on my own site?
You are welcome to link to any recipe. Please do not copy full recipes or images to another site or publish them elsewhere without permission. For anything beyond a link, contact us first through the form.
What happens to the information I send?
The name, email address and message you submit are used only to reply to you. For details on logs, statistics and cookies, see our Privacy Policy.
Can I suggest a recipe idea?
Yes. Tell us the dish, the ingredients you have in mind and any dietary needs. Suggestions help guide what we develop next, even though we cannot reply to every idea individually.
